On Sunday 5th July, Alan Griggs’ was ordained as a deacon at St Oswald’s Church in Ashbourne. For the next four years, Alan will serve as a part time, self-supporting curate at St Barnabas.

The service was followed by a shared lunch back at St Barnabas with family and friends gathered together to mark the beginning of this exciting journey in ministry for Alan.
The day before Alan’s ordination, Bill Day was ordained priest at St Werburgh’s Church, Spondon. Bill, who was ordained as deacon last year, will continue to serve at St Barnabas as an Ordained Local Minister.
