In November, a group from St Barnabas Church stayed in the Peak Centre in the beautiful village of Edale for a church weekend away. Outside it was cold snowy, but inside the centre it was warm and welcoming.
We stayed from Friday evening to Sunday late morning and shared activities and tasks. The group was divided in to teams and each team took responsibility of preparing a meal, washing up and clearing away.
We all ate together and worshipped together which enabled us to get to know each other better and enjoy friendship and fellowship.
There was plenty to do over the weekend outside our worship times together, including a walk up Kinder Scout (or part way!), learning some basic karate moves, exploring the village on a night walk or just sitting enjoying the warmth of the open fire!
It was a wonderful weekend; thanks to Louise and Alan Griggs for organising it and we all look forward to the next one!
