The Big Lunch Jubilee Celebrations

Waving flags during 'Land of Hope and Glory'!

Despite the rain, everyone had a great time at the (indoor!) big lunch street party to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The Church was packed full of people, who enjoyed eating their picnics together and sampling the delicious burgers and hot dogs from the BBQ too.   We also shared an amazing array of cakes, trifles and jellies.

The children had great fun having their faces painted, expending their energy on the bouncy castle and playing games. They also made some fantastic crowns, which were judged at the end.

After enjoying some live music, we came together for a short celebration service to give thanks for the Queen’s 60 years of service, which ended with a rousing rendition of the national anthem.

A big thank you to all those who worked so hard to make it such a special jubilee event.
