Hi I’m Jen,
I grew up in Staffordshire in the UK in a very happy, fun family. My parents were Christians and we went to church 3 times each Sunday and to Youth Group on Fridays. At 15 I started teaching Sunday School which I absolutely loved. I left home at 17 and went to Nursing School in Derby. In 1986 I went to work as a nanny in Canada for a year, or so I thought. God had other plans and 25 years later, July 2011, I returned to the UK to live.
God is and has always been my Lord, my friend and my saviour and has been with me through difficult times, including the loss of my amazing father 3 years ago.
Whilst in Canada, I was the Director of a Sunday School, a Youth Leader, Sunday School Teacher and started a club for children on Monday evenings.
I am single and do not have any children of my own, but have fostered children in the past and regularly take care of my nieces and nephews. I have always loved children and youth and understand and relate very well to them.
I have worked in schools since 1992, both in Canada and the UK and am now very excited to be working as the new Children’s and Youth Leader at St Barnabas. I am looking forward to seeing many children and their families come and be a part of St Barnabas.
I enjoy spending time waiting on God to see what it is He wants to do with the children because all the time it is always so exciting when it comes from Him. My desire is to see every child coming to a relationship with Jesus.
I envision exciting days ahead and am thrilled to be a part of what God is doing, always seeking to rely on Him as He continues to help and direct me.
