Celebration Day Fun

On June 6th in the beautiful vicarage garden of St Barnabas we celebrated our patron saint – Saint Barnabas.

The sun shone and many people came to enjoy food and friendship, there was also a bouncy castle which the children enjoyed.   We also had a beautiful cake made by one of our church members to celebrate this occasion.

The name ‘Barnabas’ means ‘son of encouragement’ and so during the evening, we wrote ‘notes of encouragement’ to each other.   There was also a ‘talent time’ when adults and children had chosen to sing a song, read a poem, play an instrument or dance – it was good to encourage and appreciate the talents people had.

The evening ended with a short service of thanksgiving and a toast to St Barnabas!
